Recent researches demonstrated the ergosterol ( provitamin D) significance for the antirachitic, antitumoral, imunomodulating, antisclerotic and homeostatic properties of medicines. These preparations assist in some endocrine and reproductive illnesses preventing.

Current researches carried out in Oleobiotechnology laboratory of Institute of Microbiology and Biotechnology of ASM demonstrated the possibility of directed synthesis execution by the yeast Saccharomyces carlsbergensis CNMN-Y-15, using different nitrogen and carbon sources, different precursors and exogenous factors, as low-frequency millimeter waves and optimal cultivating conditions. The elaborated methods of yeasts cultivating are aimed at maximal using of their biosynthetically potential using.

The obtained results are in the basis of producing technology elaborating for bioproduct ERGOSS-B, which is proposed for using as vitamin D source, steroid hormones of some bioactive steroids, as well as therapeutic remedies.
