The 10th International Academic Conference on economic and social development
The 10th International Academic Conference on economic and social development in Russia will be held on April 7-9, 2009 in Moscow. The conference is organized by the State University – Higher School of Economics (HSE), with the participation of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. The Conference Programme Committee is chaired by Professor Evgeny Yasin, the former Minister of Economic Development of Russia, the HSE Academic Supervisor.
The first plenary session on April 7 will feature senior Russian Government officials including representatives of the Presidential Administration, high-level representatives of the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the heads of the leading Russian and international companies. This session will be devoted to a reassessment of the goals and strategy envisaged at the initial conference ten years ago in fundamentally different circumstances, and the challenges in the next decade.
The second plenary session and the special symposium within the conference (including selected reports, parallel sessions and round-table meetings) will be devoted to the special theme of the conference: “Economic Modernization: productivity and human factor”.
The parallel sessions (research papers presentations) and round table meetings on issues of economic and social development as well as the ten-year assessment will be held on April 8-9. The papers should present results of original research carried out with modern research methodology (research areas are listed in the registration form). Duration/time limits are as follows:
